Together they are witness to sometimes hilarious adventures of the adult characters. His friends include Ryan, Andria, Alexia, Neil and Michael. The My weird school series of books revolve around the adventures of Arlo Jervis or AJ to his friends. They also involve interesting and funny characters, teachers and adults all trying to take advantage of the kids. All his books deal with human, kids and their view of the grownups. The funny boy series and They came from centre field deal with aliens and extra-terrestrials. He is also the author of the million-dollar series, the baseball card series and books such as the race for the sky which is an account of the invention of Aeroplanes by the Right Brothers in the form of a diary. He has written over seventy books in the My weird school series of books, companion books in the my weird school daze and My weirder school. Gutman’s computer game related work was also published as a column by Genie Livewire. His primary passion lay in writing for kids. Gutman was however never comfortable with the grownup world.
